About King Edward's School (Bath)
King Edward's School is an independent co-educational day school with a long and distinguished history, having been founded in 1552 by King Edward VI. It is governed by a charitable foundation and welcomes pupils from the age of three upwards. The nursery and pre-prep school is situated in the Weston district of the city, while the junior and senior schools share a main site on the edge of the city, around three miles away. The school aims to provide a stimulating environment in which every pupil can fulfil their personal potential, develop strong personal ethics, and build a genuine, lifelong love of learning. It seeks to prepare young people thoughtfully for the opportunities and challenges they will face in the wider world. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds, predominantly from Bath and the surrounding areas. The school supports pupils with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, and ADHD, with specialist support available for those who need it. Pupils who speak English as an additional language also receive tailored assistance, both in the classroom and from specialist teachers, and the most able pupils are offered extension opportunities across the curriculum.
