The Royal High School, Bath is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 3 to 18, located on two sites in the historic city of Bath, Somerset. The school is owned and governed by The Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) and supported by a local governing body. It came into being in 1998 through the merger of two schools with nineteenth-century roots, and its junior and senior schools are each housed in their own historic buildings. Boarding is available for girls aged 11 to 18, with most boarders accommodated in School House within the main senior building. Sixth form boarders have the use of Gloucester House, a purpose-built residence within the senior school grounds. Day pupils come largely from the local area, while most boarders join from overseas. The school aims to provide a day and boarding education tailored to the needs of girls in the twenty-first century, with a focus on high achievement, social responsibility, innovation, and a strong sense of community. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, ensuring that every girl is well looked after during her time at the school.
