About Davenies School

Davenies School is an independent day school for boys aged 4 to 13, situated in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. Founded in 1940 and governed by the Beaconsfield Educational Trust, the school brings together its pre-preparatory and preparatory departments on a single shared site, welcoming pupils from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 8. The school aims to engage, inspire and challenge its pupils through a combination of academic rigour, modern teaching approaches and traditional values. Its goal is to nurture young men who are curious and motivated learners, as well as courteous, confident and independent individuals. The school community reflects the multicultural character of the local area, with most pupils coming from professional and business families living within fifteen miles of the school. The ability profile of pupils is above average, and the school supports a number of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia and processing difficulties, with specialist support available for those who need it.

Mobile Phone Policy

Mobile telephones are not permitted in school. Parents of pupils in years 7 and 8 can choose to allow their son to have one, however, if the pupil is travelling to or from school using the home pass system. On arrival at school, any pupil with a mobile phone must switch it off and hand it in to their form tutor. Phones are stored securely and returned at the end of the day and may only be switched on once the pupil has left the school premises. The protocols in relation to home passes and mobile phones are introduced for year 6 during the summer term in order that the boys can gain independence in preparation for senior school.
