About Thorpe House School
Thorpe House School is an independent day school for boys aged 3 to 16, situated in a residential area of Gerrards Cross. Founded in 1923, the school is run as a charitable educational trust governed by a board of trustees. The school is made up of three sections: a pre-prep for boys aged 3 to 7, a prep school for those aged 7 to 11, and a senior school for pupils up to the age of 16. The pre-prep, which is housed in a separate building a short walk away, was formerly Kingscote Preparatory School, acquired by Thorpe House in 2012. The school aims to offer an education tailored to the way boys learn, attending to the needs of each individual pupil. It places great importance on values such as kindness, compassion, respect, and politeness, with the goal of preparing every boy for the challenges of modern life. Pupils come from a variety of family backgrounds in the surrounding area. The school supports boys with a range of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and makes sure that provision is in place for pupils who are most able or who have a particular talent. For those pupils for whom English is an additional language, support is provided by classroom teachers.
