About Barrow Hills School
Barrow Hills School is an independent co-educational day school for pupils aged 2 to 13 years. Founded in 1950 by a Josephite community as a single-sex boarding school, it became a co-educational day school in 1990 and joined Bridewell Royal Hospital in 2015. The school is governed by a board of governors known as the Court of Bridewell. The school is made up of two sections: Pre-Prep, which includes the Early Years Foundation Stage, for pupils aged 2 to 7; and Prep, for pupils aged 7 to 13. Pupils come from families from a range of professional and business backgrounds, and the school supports those with a variety of needs, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, pupils with English as an additional language, and those identified as the most able. The school aims to encourage pupils to work productively in a nurturing and safe environment, helping them to discover what they do best and contribute actively to the school and wider community. It seeks to support pupils in developing a strong moral character through living Christian values.
