Prior's Field School is an independent day and boarding school for female pupils, situated close to Godalming. Founded in 1902, it is run as a charitable trust overseen by a board of governors. Boarders are accommodated in two houses, one for pupils in Years 7 to 11 and one for those in Years 12 and 13. The school aims to bring out the best in each pupil according to their abilities and talents through providing an all-round secondary education. It seeks to help pupils achieve individual success in every aspect of their education and school life, develop self-belief, emotional maturity, and respect for all, and become happy, ambitious, and confident members of the community and future world. Day pupils come largely from within a 30-mile radius of the school, while weekly boarders travel from further afield. Just under one-tenth of pupils are overseas boarders, representing ten different countries. The school supports 145 pupils identified as having special educational needs and/or disabilities, and provides additional support for pupils for whom English is an additional language. The curriculum is also modified for more able pupils and for those with particular talents in sport.
