About King Edward's School Witley

King Edward's School Witley is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school with a history stretching back to 1553, when it was founded in the City of London. The school moved to its current campus in Witley, Surrey in 1865, and its governing body, known as The Court of Bridewell, reflects that long heritage. The school aims to create an environment that celebrates diversity and encourages independent learning, offering a well-rounded educational experience underpinned by an inclusive Christian ethos. Pupils are supported in their personal development with the goal of gaining wisdom, integrity, global awareness and a sense of duty. Day pupils come from the surrounding area, while boarders are drawn from the UK and more than 28 countries around the world. The school supports a wide range of learners, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and pupils with particular talents in areas such as art, music, drama, design technology and sport.
