About Unicorn School (Richmond)
Unicorn School is an independent co-educational day school, founded in 1970 by a group of parents and teachers. It is a registered charity governed by a board of governors, and welcomes children from the age of 3 through to 11. The school is organised into three sections: the Early Years Foundation Stage for children aged 3 to 5, infants for those aged 5 to 7, and juniors for pupils aged 7 to 11. The school aims to provide a nurturing, dynamic and creative environment where pupils are encouraged to become independent, responsible, self-aware and kind young people. A broad curriculum sits at the heart of this ambition, with the school seeking to support every child in achieving their potential. Pupils come from families in the surrounding area, and the school is committed to meeting a range of learning needs. A number of pupils receive specialist support for special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and sensory integration issues. For those whose first language is not English, additional support is available where needed, and the curriculum is adapted for the most able pupils within the school community.
