About Solefield School
Solefield School is an independent day school for boys aged 4 to 13, founded in 1948 and operating as a charitable trust since the 1980s. Governed by a dedicated governing body, the school is organised into two departments: pre-prep for boys aged 4 to 7, and prep for those aged 7 to 13. The school has recently added new ICT and art rooms as well as an atrium to its facilities. At the heart of the school's approach is a genuine commitment to helping every boy develop a sense of self-worth. The school encourages pupils to be polite, confident, and considerate of others, while also nurturing curiosity, open-mindedness, and a willingness to embrace challenge. The aim is for boys to discover their own strengths and build the skills they will need throughout later life. Most pupils come from the Sevenoaks area, and the school's own assessments indicate that the overall ability of its pupils is above average. The school identifies and supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, and mild autism, with a number of boys receiving additional specialist help. The curriculum is also adapted to stretch those identified as the most able within the school's population.
