About Blackheath Prep
Blackheath Preparatory School is an independent day school welcoming boys and girls aged three to eleven. Founded in 1996, the school is a registered charity and sits on a five-acre site close to Blackheath Village, where its original Georgian and Victorian buildings have been thoughtfully extended and adapted over the years. The school aims to provide an exceptionally good education within a warm, friendly and purposeful environment. It seeks to support every pupil in becoming a happy, thoughtful, confident and responsible individual who shows courtesy and care, and who finds genuine enjoyment in learning. Pupils come largely from British families living within five miles of the school, reflecting the ethnic mix of the local area. The school welcomes children of a range of abilities and needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, with dedicated support available from classroom teachers and the learning support team. The curriculum is also adapted for pupils identified as more able or as having particular talents in areas such as art, drama, music and sport.
