About Blackheath High School

Blackheath High School is an independent day school for girls aged 3 to 18, located in Vanbrugh Park, with roots going back to 1880 when it first opened in Blackheath. The school is structured across Early Years, a junior school, a senior school, and a sixth form, and is part of the Girls' Day School Trust, a registered charity overseen by a council of trustees and a local governing body. Pupils are drawn from across the southern part of Greater London, with the majority coming from the Greenwich and Blackheath areas and from a broad range of family backgrounds. The school is committed to supporting every pupil, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, ensuring that all receive the help they need to thrive. At the heart of the school is a desire to inspire pupils to strive for personal excellence across academic, creative, physical, and social pursuits. The school aims to cultivate curiosity, build confidence, and encourage an open-minded outlook, helping to prepare and empower its pupils for the future.
