About York House School
York House School is an independent co-educational day school welcoming pupils aged 3 to 13. Founded in 1910, the school moved to its current home near Croxley Green in Hertfordshire in 1966, and is owned by the York House School Trust, overseen by a board of governors who serve as trustees. The school is organised into four sections: Pre-Prep (including EYFS, Years 1 and 2), Lower School (Years 3 and 4), Middle School (Years 5 and 6), and Upper School (Years 7 and 8). In recent years the school has broadened its curriculum, increased opportunities for activities, introduced outdoor education, and developed a school smallholding. Pupils come from a mix of ethnic and cultural backgrounds in villages and towns close to the school. The school strives to offer a breadth of high-quality experiences across outdoor learning, art, sport, music, drama, and a wide range of extra-curricular activities, while nurturing positivity of outlook, leadership, and self-reliance in all its pupils through caring relationships and rewards.
