About Charlotte House Preparatory School

Charlotte House Preparatory School is an independent day school for girls aged 3 to 11, situated in a residential area of Rickmansworth. Founded in 1931, the school adopted its current name in 2011 and is a registered charity governed by a dedicated governing body. The school is arranged across three parts on a single site, with the Early Years Foundation Stage welcoming children aged three to five, pre-prep for Years 1 and 2, and prep for Years 3 to 6. The school aims to provide a supportive, happy, and stimulating environment where pupils are equipped with a broad range of skills, knowledge, and experiences through a challenging and comprehensive curriculum. It encourages appreciation, respect, independence, co-operation, and courtesy, with the goal of helping every girl flourish, reach her potential, and transition confidently to senior school life. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds within a ten-mile radius of the school. The school supports pupils with a variety of learning needs, including those with learning difficulties or disabilities, and those for whom English is an additional language. The curriculum is also adapted for pupils identified as more able, as well as those with particular talents in sport, music, or drama.
