About Woodlands School
Woodlands Preparatory School is an independent day school welcoming boys and girls from three months to eleven years of age. Set on a nine-acre site on the outskirts of Great Warley village, part of Brentwood in Essex, the school has been established for almost forty years and also has a sister school, Woodlands Hutton Manor. The school is family owned, with the proprietor and his family maintaining regular communication with the headteacher. The school is organised into a Nursery, which welcomes children from three months old, and a main school divided into three sections: foundation stage (ages three to five), infants (ages five to seven), and juniors (ages seven to eleven). Children move from the Nursery into the main school in the term following their third birthday. Pupils come from local families with a range of cultural backgrounds, reflecting the wider community. The school aims to combine the best of traditional education with forward-thinking ideas, helping pupils to become socially responsible, lifelong learners within a safe and happy environment. Support is available for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, and the school also offers provision to challenge its more able pupils.
