About Brentwood School
Brentwood School is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged three to eighteen, founded in 1557 and located in the centre of Brentwood. It is a charitable incorporated organisation, administered by a governing body. The preparatory and senior schools sit a short distance apart within the school grounds, and boarders are accommodated in two houses within and close to the school grounds. Pupils aged three to eleven, and those in the sixth form, are taught in co-educational classes, while girls and boys aged eleven to sixteen are taught in single-sex classes and join together for all other activities. The former pre-prep and prep schools have amalgamated to form the preparatory school, and a building project has been initiated to allow for its growth. Most pupils come from the local area, many from within the M25, with a small number from overseas. They come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and are largely from professional families. The school aims to inspire life-long learning within a nurturing, creative and intellectually dynamic community, treating every pupil as an individual and supporting them to achieve their best as curious, resilient and enterprising learners, ready to lead and to be of service to others.
