About Wellington School
Wellington School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school located in a town in rural Somerset. The school comprises a senior school, founded in 1837, and a prep school, which opened in 1999, both of which sit alongside one another on the same site. Boarders are accommodated in five single-sex houses within the school grounds. The school aims to foster a pastoral culture that is compassionate, empathetic, inclusive and supportive of everyone in its community. It strives to offer a curriculum that stretches and stimulates all pupils, alongside a broad co-curricular programme designed to challenge, inspire and build confidence. The goal is to help pupils develop the skills and character they need to thrive both during their time at school and in later life. Most pupils come from the surrounding area, while the boarding community represents over 30 countries. The school supports a wide range of needs, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as the most able, including academic scholars.
