About The Old Vicarage School
The Old Vicarage School is an independent day school for girls aged 4 to 11 years. Founded in 1930, the school moved to its current location, formerly Ellerker College, in 1931. It is a charitable trust, administered by a board of governors. The school is organised into two sections: lower school for pupils aged 4 to 7 years, and upper school for pupils aged 7 to 11 years. The school aims to enable every pupil to be the best she can, whether academically or in the arts, drama or sports, giving pupils a strong grounding in academic essentials so that creativity can flourish. It also endeavours to ensure that leavers move on to the senior schools that are right for them. Pupils at the school are of above-average ability. The school supports 19 pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, all of whom receive additional specialist help, and 19 pupils for whom English is an additional language, supported by their classroom teachers. The curriculum is also modified for the most able pupils and for those with special talents in swimming, gymnastics, tennis, athletics, cricket and drama.
