About St David's School
St David's School in Purley is an independent day school for boys and girls aged from three to eleven, including an Early Years Foundation Setting. Founded in 1912 by two sisters from Brecon in South Wales, the school takes its name from their patron saint. It is run as a limited company and charity, with directors who also serve as trustees and oversee the management of the school. The school is housed in one building outside Purley town centre, with a nearby playing field that includes an all-weather pitch, tennis courts, and a pavilion. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds within a five-mile radius of the school. St David's aims to provide a good all-round education within a caring family community, where courtesy, consideration, and tolerance are valued. The school encourages each pupil to take a disciplined approach to work and to contribute positively to school life. Provision is made for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and additional support is available for the most able pupils too.
