About Cumnor House Boys School

Cumnor House School is a day school for boys aged 2 to 13 and girls aged 2 to 4, situated across sites in Purley and South Croydon. Founded in 1931, the school is part of the Cognita Schools group and is organised into three departments: Nursery, pre-prep (Reception to Year 2), and prep (Years 3 to 8). The school welcomes pupils from a range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds and works to nurture a genuine love of learning alongside curiosity, perseverance, and critical thinking. It aims to offer a broad and balanced curriculum that builds pupils' skills, confidence, and self-esteem, while also preparing them well for the entrance requirements of senior schools. Support is available for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those who show particular ability or special talents in areas such as sport, music, and art. The school is committed to helping every pupil develop respectful values and an understanding of different beliefs and cultures.
