About St Columba's College
St Columba's College is a Roman Catholic day school in St Albans, Hertfordshire, founded in 1939. The school welcomes pupils from the age of four through to eighteen, with a prep school that includes an Early Years Foundation Stage setting, and a senior school for pupils aged eleven to eighteen. The school began admitting female pupils into Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 12 in 2021. It is an incorporated charity, and three of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart continue to play an active role in school life. The school aims to provide a Christian education within an environment of academic endeavour and personal discipline, nurturing young people to develop their own best standard through the Columban virtues of courage, courtesy and compassion. Pupils come from the Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and north London area and represent a range of backgrounds and ethnicities. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as those with English as an additional language, and caters for more able pupils through its scholars and stretch and challenge programmes and additional activities.
