About St Cedd's School
St Cedd's School is an independent co-educational day school located in a residential area of Chelmsford. Founded in 1931, the school moved to its current site in 2011 and offers purpose-built sporting facilities on site, as well as additional off-site playing fields. The school is a charitable trust administered by a council of governors. The school welcomes children from age 3 through to 11, organised across three sections: a pre-school for children aged 3 to 4, a lower school for pupils aged 4 to 7, and an upper school for pupils aged 7 to 11. The pre-school is housed in its own building on the same site. St Cedd's aims to provide a secure and happy environment where pupils are encouraged to work and play with enthusiasm and commitment. The school seeks to promote academic excellence alongside a broad range of experiences, nurturing a strong sense of spiritual and moral awareness rooted in Christian principles. Most pupils come from professional families living within 10 miles of the school, and support is available for those with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as for pupils for whom English is an additional language.
