About Southbank International School Kensington
Southbank International School, Kensington, is a co-educational day school originally founded as The American International School in 1979, moving to its current Kensington site in 1992. Part of the Cognita Schools group, the school welcomes children from Early Childhood through to the end of primary age, covering ages three to eleven years. Pupils follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, and over 40 nationalities are represented within the school community, with many children speaking more than one language. The school is committed to challenging pupils academically whilst maintaining a caring and inclusive environment. It places a strong emphasis on inquiry and a global outlook, and aims to celebrate diversity, treat every individual with fairness and respect, and foster a sense of responsibility and service. Pupils come mainly from professional international families living in central London. The school supports a range of learners, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, with specialist help available alongside classroom teaching.
