About Notting Hill Preparatory School
Notting Hill Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school situated in the Notting Hill area of London, founded in 2003. The school is organised across three sections in separate buildings: a pre-prep department covering the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 2, a middle school for Years 3 to 5, and an upper school for Years 6 to 8. It is run as a limited company, overseen by a board of governors with a joint chairmanship. The school aims to combine academic challenge with the joy of childhood, encouraging pupils to think independently, take risks in their learning, and follow their passions without fear of making mistakes. The hope is that pupils will grow into confident, independent thinkers and problem solvers. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds, mostly from families living within a five-mile radius of the school. The school supports a number of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, and provides additional help for pupils for whom English is an additional language. Provision is also adapted for the most able pupils in the school.

Mobile Phone Policy
At NHP, we pride ourselves on providing the best possible preparation for the world our young people are going into. Mobile phones are undoubtedly a huge part of that world, but we know that while they are learning and maturing, a smartphone is often much more of a hindrance than a help. We want our older pupils to be independent and this extends to travelling to and from school by themselves – but we stipulate that they must have a 'dumbphone' for the journey. This helps NHP families hold off from handing over a smartphone until their children are ready.
