About Reed's School
Reed's School is an independent day and boarding school for male pupils, with a coeducational sixth form, situated in Cobham. The school was opened in 1813 by the Reverend Andrew Reed as a school for orphans, and it remains a registered charity overseen by a board of governors. Boarders are accommodated in three boarding houses on the main school site, which also includes a sixth form centre, science labs, classrooms, and an indoor cricket centre. The school's mission is to educate pupils by building on the legacy of Andrew Reed. It aims to provide a nurturing environment, promote academic excellence, find the best in every pupil, create a community for life, and prepare pupils for the future. The values it seeks to instil include integrity, compassion, curiosity, resilience, responsibility, and independence. Approximately 10% of pupils are Foundationers, children who have lost the support of one or both parents. The school supports pupils with a wide range of needs, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and those for whom English is an additional language. The curriculum is also adapted for the most able pupils, ensuring every young person is well supported throughout their time at the school.
