About Queen Elizabeth's Hospital

Queen Elizabeth's Hospital is an independent day school in Bristol, founded in 1590. The school originally provided a boarding education for the poorest children in the city and has a long history of serving its local community. It is an educational charity, governed by a board who also serve as trustees. The school is made up of three sections: juniors for Years 3 to 6, seniors for Years 7 to 11, and a sixth form. The majority of pupils are male, with female pupils joining in the sixth form. Pupils come from Bristol and the surrounding area, and on entry their ability is above average compared to those taking the same tests nationally. The school aims to develop each pupil's intellectual and spiritual independence within a caring community. It supports pupils in understanding the importance of working with others, serving the local community, and developing a global perspective, while preparing them for the next phase of their lives.
