About Prince's Mead School
Prince's Mead School is a co-educational independent day school situated on the edge of Winchester. Run as a charitable trust under a board of governors, the school welcomes children from age 3 through to 11, organised across two departments: pre-prep for those aged 3 to 7, and prep for those aged 8 to 11. From Year 2, pupils are based in a Georgian house set within its own grounds, while younger children in the Nursery, Reception and Year 1 are accommodated in a converted coach house. The school aims to prepare every child academically, socially, physically, digitally and emotionally for their future lives. It seeks to foster a lifelong love of learning, intellectual curiosity, ambition and courage within a stimulating and nurturing environment, whilst helping pupils to grow into confident, resilient and responsible members of their community. Most pupils come from professional backgrounds and live within a 15-mile radius of the school. The school supports children with a range of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, offering specialist help where needed. More able pupils are provided with differentiated challenges within lessons, ensuring every child has the opportunity to flourish.
