About Twyford School
Twyford School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school situated in the village of Twyford. Founded in the early nineteenth century as a boarding preparatory school for boys, it became co-educational in 1983 and today offers provision from the age of two through Early Years Foundation Stage, pre-prep, and prep. The school is a charitable trust administered by a board of governors. At the heart of the school is a commitment to nurturing a genuine love of learning within a traditional Christian ethos, where every child is respected as an individual and feels safe and valued. The school encourages pupils to have the confidence to make mistakes and the space to learn from them, whilst developing their curiosity and enquiry through the use of technology. Pupils, including boarders, come from a range of family backgrounds within roughly a 20-mile radius of the school. The school supports pupils with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, with a number of these pupils receiving additional specialist support. Provision is also available for pupils who speak English as an additional language, and the curriculum is adapted for the most able pupils within the school community.
