About Orwell Park School
Orwell Park School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school, welcoming children from the age of two and a half through to thirteen. Founded in 1868, the school moved to its current site in 1937 and is overseen by a board of governors. It comprises an Early Years Foundation Stage, a pre-prep and a prep department, with boarding accommodation situated within the main school building. The school is committed to offering an all-round education in which children feel happy and supported as they grow in confidence, develop their abilities, and learn to persevere when faced with challenges. It aims to inspire a lifelong love of learning and a growing sense of self-reliance, helping pupils engage with the wider world and the needs of others as they prepare for senior school. Pupils come largely from local families with a range of professional and military backgrounds. The school provides additional specialist support for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as tailored English language support where needed. The curriculum is also adapted for pupils who show particular strengths in areas such as drama, music, sport, design and technology, and art.
