About Milton Keynes Preparatory School
Milton Keynes Preparatory School is an independent co-educational day school welcoming children from under two years of age through to the end of Year 6. The school is organised into three sections: a nursery unit for the youngest children, a pre-preparatory department for those aged three to seven, and a preparatory school for Years 3 to 6. It is managed by its proprietor alongside an advisory board of governors, and has recently grown its senior leadership team and expanded its facilities, which now include a science laboratory, a wellbeing room, and a farm. The school aims to create a happy environment where every child can reach their full potential. It places a strong emphasis on academic excellence within a broad curriculum, while also nurturing social skills and encouraging children to develop respect for themselves and others. Its overarching goal is to give pupils the best possible foundation for their senior school years. The school welcomes pupils from a range of culturally diverse backgrounds. Support is in place for children with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and communication and language difficulties, and additional help is available for those who speak English as an additional language. More able pupils are further stretched through extended tasks and extra-curricular enrichment activities, ensuring every child is appropriately supported and challenged.
