About Ludgrove
Ludgrove School is an independent boarding school for boys, founded in 1892 and set within 130 acres of grounds in rural Berkshire. Governed by a board of trustees since becoming a charitable trust in 1972, the school welcomes boys aged 8 to 13, divided into juniors and seniors. Boarding accommodation is housed within the main school building, with dormitories on the first floor. The school has also created an Exploration Centre dedicated to scientific and creative learning. The school aims for boys to grow and develop in a happy, caring environment, to explore and expand their potential, and to develop an awareness and concern for others. Boys are encouraged to meet future challenges and opportunities with confidence, good manners, and humour. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds, mostly from British families, with approximately twelve per cent from overseas. The school identifies pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, and ADHD, all of whom receive additional specialist support. Pupils with English as an additional language also receive extra help, and provision is made in the curriculum for those who are more able or have particular talents.
