About Holme Grange School

Holme Grange School is an independent co-educational day school, founded as a boys' preparatory school in 1945 and becoming co-educational in 1975. It is a charitable trust administered by a board of governors. The school comprises the pre-prep, which includes the Early Years Foundation Stage, the prep school, and Eaton Grange for senior pupils. A new senior school building and new classrooms for Reception and outdoor learning have been added since a previous inspection. The school aims to provide a challenging education that stimulates intellectual curiosity and helps pupils discover their talents, supporting high achievement across a wide range of activities. It seeks to nurture personal development, confidence, and leadership skills within a caring and supportive family environment, and to guide pupils towards becoming flexible global citizens. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds and represent forty different nationalities. The school supports 134 pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, the majority of whom have difficulties associated with dyslexia, and seven pupils hold an education, health and care plan. English is an additional language for 18 pupils, some of whom receive additional support, and the curriculum is adapted for the 162 pupils identified as the most able within the school's population.
