About Hale Preparatory School
Hale Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational day school situated in the south of Manchester. Founded in 1980 by its proprietor, who also serves as principal, the school operates as a limited company with directors providing oversight. A new headteacher was appointed in January 2023 and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the school. The school aims to provide a well-rounded education in a relaxed and secure environment where pupils feel happy and achieve their full academic potential. It also endeavours to develop pupils' awareness of, and respect for, the beliefs and values of others. Most pupils live relatively close to the school, and their cultural backgrounds reflect the local area. The ability profile of pupils is above average in relation to those taking similar tests nationally. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as those for whom English is an additional language, and provides opportunities for pupils with particular gifts and talents to excel and be extended further.
