Altrincham Preparatory School is a non-denominational independent day school for boys, welcoming pupils from the age of two through to eleven. The school operates across three sites: an early years centre for nursery, pre-school and Reception children, a pre-prep site for younger boys, and a purpose-built prep school for those aged seven to eleven, situated half a mile away. Recent additions to the school include a woodland learning environment, science room, music room and a new library. The school aims to provide a safe, happy and stimulating place to learn, where boys are encouraged to reach their potential and to develop excellence, kindness and curiosity within a caring and compassionate environment. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds, with most families living within a fifteen-mile radius of the school. The school is attentive to the needs of all its pupils, providing specialist support for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as tailored assistance for those who speak English as an additional language. Appropriate challenge is also provided for the most able pupils in the school.

Year 6 boys who walk home can bring a mobile into school provided it stays secured in the school office. No general policy as school is primary.
