About Haberdashers' Girls' School

Haberdashers' Girls' School is an independent day school for female pupils, founded in 1875 by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers. It moved to its current site in 1974, where it sits adjacent to the companion school for male pupils. The school spans an Early Years Foundation Stage, a junior school, and a senior school with sixth form, all sharing the same campus and many facilities. The school aims to provide a thorough academic education, helping pupils to fulfil their potential, grow in confidence, and become active citizens ready to take on leadership and responsibility in the wider world. Pupils come from a very wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds across a large catchment area. The school supports those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as a significant number of pupils for whom English is an additional language, with classroom teachers playing a central role in meeting those needs. Provision for the most able pupils is woven into lessons across the curriculum.
