About Haberdashers' Boys' School
Haberdashers' Boys' School is an independent day school for boys aged 11 to 18, located in Elstree. Founded in 1690, the school has a long history rooted in the Haberdashers' tradition, and has been based at its current site since 1961. It is part of a wider family of schools overseen by the Haberdashers' Aske's Elstree Schools Board, which also governs a boys' preparatory school and a girls' school, creating a co-educational environment across the family of schools. The school aims to foster a lifelong love of learning whilst supporting every pupil to grow in confidence, resilience, and a sense of responsibility. It seeks to nurture curiosity, creativity, and cultural awareness, helping young people develop a thoughtful, global outlook as they prepare for life beyond school. Pupils come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds across a large catchment area. The school welcomes boys with a variety of needs and languages, with support in place for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as for pupils for whom English is an additional language.
