Guildford High School is an academically selective independent day school for female pupils, located on a site in a residential area east of the city centre. The school comprises separate junior and senior school buildings, with a sports centre and pitches located nearby. Founded in 1888, the school has always been a member of the Church Schools Company and is part of United Learning, a group founded on the principles of respect, service and compassion. Students in years 7-11 must store their mobile phones in lockers during school hours, specifically between 8.30am and 4pm. This policy aims to minimise distractions and ensure that students focus on their school activities. Guildford High School acknowledges that mobile phones are useful for communication between parents and students, especially for travel purposes, but emphasises their restricted use within the school premises to maintain an optimal learning environment.
