About Ellesmere College
Ellesmere College is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 7 to 18, set on the outskirts of Ellesmere in Shropshire. Founded in 1884, the school is a Church of England foundation and part of the Woodard group of Anglican schools. It offers junior and senior school education alongside sixth form provision, and has seven boarding houses, including a dedicated junior boarding house. The school aims to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where young people are encouraged to reach their full academic potential, whilst developing a sense of personal fulfilment and consideration for others, in preparation for adult life. The school welcomes pupils from a wide range of backgrounds, with many day pupils coming from families living within the local area and boarders joining from across the world, with around 30 nationalities currently represented. The school is committed to supporting all its pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those who show particular academic ability or special talents in sport.
