About Duke of Kent School
Duke of Kent School is an independent day school welcoming boys and girls aged 3 to 16. Founded in 1948, it has a long-established history and merged with Vanbrugh Castle, a Royal Air Force school, in 1976. The school extended its provision to include pupils up to the age of 16 in 2010, with its first GCSE cohort completing their examinations in 2012. At the heart of the school's ethos are kindness and respect. The school aims to support and challenge pupils across all areas of their development, offering a stimulating curriculum and encouraging a commitment to continuous improvement. Through opportunities for leadership, teamwork and service, pupils are helped to develop the knowledge, skills, empathy and understanding to become compassionate and constructive members of both their local and wider community. Pupils come from town and country areas within a 20-mile radius of the school. The school is inclusive in its approach, providing appropriate support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as for those for whom English is an additional language.
