About Cranleigh School
Cranleigh School is a co-educational independent school offering both day and boarding places. Founded in 1865 as a boys' boarding school, it has grown over the years to welcome girls, who first joined the sixth form in 1972 and have been admitted from the age of 13 since 1999. Boarders are housed in eight single-sex houses on site, with day pupils fully integrated into house life alongside them. The school is a registered charity governed by a board of trustees. The school aims to challenge and inspire its pupils by broadening horizons, enriching learning, and supporting them at every step of their journey. It seeks to help young people flourish, lead fulfilled lives, and develop the personal skills and qualities that will serve them well into the future. Pupils come mainly from professional and business backgrounds. The school is home to a diverse range of learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, a number of whom receive additional specialist support. The curriculum is also adapted for pupils identified as particularly able, as well as for those with special talents in sport, music, or drama.
