About Culford School
Culford School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 1 to 18, set in the village of Culford. Founded in 1881 by the Methodist church, the school moved to its present site in 1935 and is owned by the Methodist Independent Schools Trust. The school is organised into three departments: a pre-preparatory (including nursery) for pupils aged 2 to 7, a preparatory department for pupils aged 7 to 13, and a senior department including the sixth form for pupils aged 13 to 18. Five boarding houses on site offer full and flexi boarding for pupils from Year 3 to Year 13. Founded on Methodist principles, the school's mission is to unlock the full potential of every pupil through the modelling of strong Christian values and honesty, while treating others with compassion. The aim is that pupils will develop into flexible, innovative, dynamic and resilient young adults, well-prepared for the next stages of their lives. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds, both locally and from families who live and work abroad. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and pupils with particular talents in areas such as music, drama, sport and art, with the curriculum modified to meet their needs.
