Avon House School is an independent co-educational day school welcoming children aged 3 to 11, situated on the edge of Woodford Green in the heart of Epping Forest. The school is organised into three sections — Early Years Foundation Stage, Pre-Prep, and Prep — and is overseen by a board of trustees and four governors who meet regularly. At the heart of the school is a commitment to celebrating and supporting every child. The team places great importance on building self-esteem, self-respect, and respect for others within a caring environment, with a focus on recognising each child's individual needs and helping them develop the skills they will need for the next stage of their lives. The school draws pupils from a range of professional and business backgrounds and reflects the diverse ethnic makeup of the local community. Support is in place for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, and classroom teachers provide assistance for those for whom English is an additional language, with some pupils receiving additional support. The most able pupils are identified and their learning is adapted accordingly through Individual Outcome Plans.
