About Loyola Preparatory School
Loyola Preparatory School is an independent Catholic day school for boys aged between 3 and 11, governed by a board of governors who report to a trust with oversight of the school's Catholic ethos. Founded in 1894 as part of St Ignatius College, the school became independent and moved to its current location in 1950. The school includes an Early Years Foundation Stage department for children aged 3 to 5, and six classes for pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. The school aims to identify and develop each pupil's skills and abilities, so that they fulfil their potential and are well equipped for their future lives of service to others as an expression of the Greater Glory of God. Pupils come from a range of professional and business backgrounds within a 20-mile radius of the school, and reflect a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, those for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as more able, with specialist provision and curriculum adaptations in place for each group.
