About West House School
West House School is an independent day school located in Edgbaston, near the centre of Birmingham. Founded in 1895, it merged with a local co-educational nursery school in 1999 and is a registered charitable trust overseen by a board of governors. The school is registered for male pupils, though female pupils are welcome in the Nursery classes. It covers three sections: early years for children aged six months to four years, pre-prep for pupils aged four to seven, and prep for pupils aged seven to eleven. The school aims to help every pupil realise their potential within an inclusive and supportive environment. It seeks to foster all-round development through celebrating success and encouraging positive behaviour, attitudes and values, while offering a broad curriculum alongside a rich and varied range of extra-curricular activities. Pupils come from professional backgrounds in Birmingham and the surrounding area. The school supports those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as pupils for whom English is an additional language, through individual and classroom support. More able pupils are supported through the curriculum and enrichment activities, and the school works to create an atmosphere of genuine care and enjoyment for all.
