About Wellesley Haddon Dene School

Wellesley House School is an independent co-educational school in Broadstairs, Kent, welcoming children aged 6 to 13 as day pupils or boarders. Founded in 1869, the school has a long history and has grown over the years through mergers and developments on its current purpose-built site. It offers full, weekly and flexi boarding, with girls and boys each accommodated in their own house. The school aims to provide a broad, high-quality education in a caring and nurturing environment, encouraging every pupil to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, creative arts and sports. The focus is on building resilience and self-confidence, so that pupils leave as well-rounded, motivated young people ready to flourish at their chosen senior schools. Pupils come mainly from professional families in Kent, East Sussex and London, with a number of international boarders also joining the community. The school supports a range of needs, including pupils with special educational needs and disabilities and those for whom English is an additional language, ensuring every child is well looked after throughout their time at the school.
