About St Lawrence College Junior School
St Lawrence College Junior School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school located in Ramsgate, on the same site as its senior school. Founded in 1884, it originally welcomed male pupils as a preparatory school and has since grown into a welcoming community where children can join as day pupils or as full or flexi-boarders from the age of seven. Boarders are accommodated in a single boarding house, which they share with boarders from Years 7 and 8 attending the senior school. The school is rooted in Christian values and aims to provide a holistic education that nurtures the whole child. Alongside strong academic achievement, it places great importance on developing soft skills, confidence, and a sense of responsibility towards others and the wider world. The goal is for every pupil to leave with a genuine desire to make a positive difference. Most pupils come from the local Thanet area. The school supports a range of learning needs, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities such as dyslexia and speech and language needs, all of whom receive additional support. Provision is also in place for those who speak English as an additional language, as well as for the most able pupils, with the curriculum adapted to meet a variety of needs.
