About Thorngrove School
Thorngrove School is an independent co-educational day school welcoming pupils aged 2 to 13 years. Founded in 1988, the school is organised into three sections: a nursery for children aged 2 to 4, a lower school for those aged 4 to 7, and a prep school for pupils aged 7 to 13. The school has also recently added cricket facilities and tennis courts to its grounds. At the heart of the school is a commitment to pupils' well-being, mindfulness, and sense of worth. The school works to build resilience and to nurture sensitivity and empathy, while aiming to provide consistent, high-quality teaching that encourages intellectual curiosity and a lasting love of learning. Every pupil is supported in reaching their full potential. Pupils come from a range of professional backgrounds and mostly live within 15 miles of the school. The school supports 52 pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, with 33 of these receiving additional specialist help. Provision is also in place for pupils for whom English is an additional language, as well as for those identified as the most able, for whom the curriculum is appropriately adapted.
