About The Queen's School

The Queen's School is a selective, independent day school for girls, founded in 1878 and operating as a charitable trust with a governing body. The school occupies two sites within the city of Chester, a mile apart. The senior school caters for pupils aged 11 to 18 years, while the lower school welcomes girls from age 4 to 11, including the Early Years Foundation Stage. The school aims to educate and empower young women to lead and shape the world in which they live, encouraging a global mind-set, independent thinking, and collaboration. It seeks to foster a lifelong love of learning within a nurturing environment, providing opportunities for pupils to lead, create, and innovate. Most pupils come from a range of professional families within a 40-mile radius of the school. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, pupils for whom English is an additional language, and those identified as more able, with the curriculum modified accordingly.
