About The Firs School
The Firs School is a co-educational independent day school situated in Chester, founded in 1945. It has been family-run since its beginnings, and today is overseen by Firs Education Ltd, whose two directors are both members of the founding Longman family, supported by an advisory board of governors. The school welcomes children from the age of two through to the end of Year 6, with three sections covering the Early Years Foundation Stage, infants, and juniors. The school aims to provide a secure, stimulating and caring environment where childhood is celebrated and the partnership between child, parent or carer, and staff can flourish. It seeks to support every child in progressing educationally, socially and emotionally, and endeavours to live out the values of the Christian faith while respecting and valuing those of all faiths or none. Pupils come from a variety of locations, predominantly around Chester. The school identifies and supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, as well as those who speak English as an additional language, ensuring all receive the help they need. The curriculum is also adapted for the most able pupils in the school.
