About The Grammar School at Leeds Primary
The Grammar School at Leeds is an independent co-educational day school for pupils aged 3 to 18 years. The school came into being in 2005 through an amalgamation of Leeds Grammar School and Leeds Girls' High School, and has been based on its purpose-built site on the outskirts of Leeds since 2008. A separate site in the centre of Leeds, known as Rose Court, houses the Nursery and pre-prep departments for younger pupils aged 3 to 7 years. Pupils aged between 11 and 16 are taught in single-sex classes. The school aims for every pupil to flourish in an ambitious and aspirational environment, supported by a friendly community in which every child is valued. Through a stimulating curriculum and a caring pastoral system, it seeks to develop confident and versatile young people who are capable of high achievement. Pupils come from a range of professional and other family backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of the local area. The school supports a number of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, and many pupils speak English as an additional language. The curriculum is also thoughtfully adapted for those with particular talents in areas such as sport, music, and drama. The school is a registered charity, overseen by a governing body whose members serve as the charity's trustees.
