About The Froebelian School

The Froebelian School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged between 3 and 11. Founded in 1913, it became a charitable educational trust in 1973, administered by a board of governors known as the school council. The school is organised into two departments: the pre-prep, which caters for pupils from Nursery to Year 2, and the juniors, for those in Years 3 to 6. The school aims to provide a caring, supportive and structured learning environment where quality education develops the whole child, helping each pupil to maximise their potential. It also seeks to foster good relationships throughout its community and beyond, supporting a smooth transition for children as they move into the next phase of their learning. At the time of the most recent inspection, the school had 181 pupils on roll, drawn from a range of professional families and reflecting a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Most pupils live within a 10-mile radius of the school. The school supports pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, including dyslexia and dyspraxia, and also makes provision for those identified as more able, as well as those with particular talents in sport, art, music and drama.
